EMDR Global Child EMDR Alliance About our alliance trees

Mission Statement

As a result of the COVID pandemic and inspired by the Tabonuco tree story, Ana Gomez envisioned the Global Child EMDR Alliance. She invited child and adolescent EMDR trainers and experts worldwide to join this vision. The Global Child EMDR Alliance met for the first time on March 15, 2020, and became a dynamic coalition of dedicated professionals committed to supporting children, adolescents, and their parents during the pandemic. This group worked tirelessly to create webinars at no cost for EMDR clinicians, along with storybooks, songs, guidelines, and resources for children, adolescents, parents, and EMDR clinicians around the world.

EMDR Global Child EMDR Alliance Mission statement

With the support of multiple translators, many of them our own members, the Global Child EMDR Alliance distributed resources to over 30 countries. The Spanish/Portuguese-speaking countries also formed a branch (Alianza Global EMDR Infanto-Juvenil) that created myriad resources in Spanish and Portuguese. Turkey, led by Derya Altinay, also created its branch to support Turkish families.

In the face of adversity, the Global Child EMDR Alliance stands as a source of hope and a symbol of the power of unity and compassion. Together, we strive to build resilience, restore hope and dignity, and pave the way for a healthier future for all children affected by trauma. Together, we can transform trauma into resilience, one child at a time.
